Contains publications, speeches, scrapbooks, and photographs; non-official files documenting Abdellah's research interests in patient care, nursing practice, nursing research, and the care of the elderly. Of special note is the extensive collection of photographs which serve as a visual record of federal nursing service and the Public Health Service in the 1970s and 1980s. Abdellah's official files as an officer of the Public Health Service remain with the service.

In April 1955 the Department of HEW licensed 6 companies to distribute a newly-developed polio vaccine developed by Jonas Salk of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis.
